Q. How do you prevent a respondent from completing a survey more than once?
A. PeriscopeIQ uses a unique internal identifier that prevents users from taking a survey more than once. In order to activate this identifier, you must check the Prevent Survey Respondent From Taking The Survey More Than Once checkbox that is found in the New Survey screen. If a user does try to take the same survey again, a warning statement will alert the user that the survey has already been completed and submitted.
Q. I have deployed my survey and sent e-mail notifications, but a few users report that they can't click onto the link to take the survey I sent them. What can I do?
A. In all likelihood, the reason that some of your respondents are having this problem is because they do not have a link capable browser or e-mail client. This is common in older e-mail programs and certain online e-mail viewing websites. Tell your respondents that they need to copy and paste the address they receive into their browser's address window. The mouse can be used to highlight the address, then choose "copy" from the browser's menu choices, or depress CTRL-C at the same time to copy the address. Place the cursor in the browser address window, delete whatever address is currently there, then choose "paste" from the browser's menu choices, or depress CTRL-V at the same time to paste the address. Then they just need to hit the Enter button to take them to your survey.
Q. Is it possible for me to add instructions or tips to certain questions when I am creating my survey?
A. Yes. You can do this by checking the advanced options box in the New Survey screen (where you enter the title, subtitle, and survey instructions). This option can also be turned on in a survey that you've already created, but not deployed yet. To do this, select Edit on the MySurvey page, then the edit link where the title appears. You may choose which questions to include tips or instructions for, and customize each tip to suit the question.
Q. I have deployed a survey, but I forgot to include some people when I sent it. Is it possible for me to deploy/send the survey to those I’ve missed?
A. Yes, you can send the survey to those you may have forgotten, or to new people you’ve added to your address book. Go to the MySurvey page and then find the particular survey that you wish to deploy to new people. Click the Deploy link in the Options column. You will be taken to the Select Survey Participants page, and you may now choose the new participants. Note the message telling you that those people you have already deployed the survey to will not show up or be available for you to choose again, so that you don't accidentally send to the same person(s) more than once.
Q. Will PeriscopeIQ accept an incomplete form?
A.Currently the system has the option to designate questions or fields that require an answer in order to be saved and tallied. In a future version, an incomplete survey as a whole will only be rejected if the form contains no data at all.
