Investor Intelligence

Investors, as owners, are key stakeholders in an organization. Board members represent investors but boards or management rarely ask individual investors for their opinions on the company's management or ethical policies.

Listening to investors may not have been on the management's radar screen a few years ago, but investor activism is rapidly changing that. In the recent HP-Compaq merger proxy fight, both the management and opponents made extensive use of market research through Web surveys and telephone polling to bolster their respective cases.

Smart managers are beginning to consider investor intelligence as one of the key inputs of strategy development. The importance of investor intelligence is not limited to large or public organizations. In fact, investor-funded private companies and family-owned companies, where the investors are few in number but highly influential, can benefit even more from anonymously obtained and confidentiality assured investor input. With such input and intelligence, organizations may reduce the chance of highly-disruptive events such as management shakeover or forced sale of the company.

Examples of some our Investor Intelligence applications are:

Strategic Direction of the Organization
Management Performance Evaluation
Desirability of Significant Actions such as Mergers and Acquisitions
Quarterly or Annual Feedback
